Pink Pink Pink.....

Pink.

If you think too hard about random things like we often do, then pink is a very objective topic. Lots of girls are really opposed to it! These days, even guys seem to be more adept than girls at introducing the colour into their wardrobe.

For me it brings back memories of my Barbie Doll days. Pink clothes, pink shoes, pink horse, house, car…I think there was even a pink stethoscope!

Now, despite the Barbie Dolls of my youth, waiting for me in my toy chest, I’ve always had a dislike of pink clothes. It seems that we women in our ‘tween’ years tend to avoid it coz, like, y’know it’s like, totally loserish to like stuff that’s, like, all girly and stuff =D

Even today, I’m not crazy about the colour as a predominant shade in my outfit – although lovely, it’s just not my style in large doses.....Yet all this pink talk makes me want to go out and buy a pair of hot pink pumps to go with my leather pants! Hmmm…

Anyway...

I do love the colour in other ways. I have a photo I took of my Mum’s pink roses. It’s stuck to my computer monitor so everyday I think of my Mum. It also reminds me of a tiny baby girl that recently came into the world and brought so much happiness to my family.

Then there are pink ribbons; One small symbol that affects so many people in many different ways. I’ll wear pink on October 24th for my Nanna, a breast cancer survivor. I’ll also wear it for other survivors, like one of our Verge girls, and for the families and friends I know who are currently watching their loved ones fight.

No matter your opinion on Pink – go get a pink ribbon to wear on October 24th. You never know whose life you could be making a little bit more colourful.
