Every year, the Leukaemia Foundation hosts an amazing walk on the Perth foreshore, called Light the Night. It's hard to miss hundreds of people, as they make their way along the Swan River, with brightly coloured lanterns, to honour people they know who have been touched by cancer.
A White lantern means survivorship - The Life Light
Blue means Hope for the future - The Hope Light
Gold is to remember those who have passed on - The Love Light.
Every 46 minutes, someone in Australia is diagnosed with a type of blood cancer.
Given this staggering statistic, it's unbelievable that this foundation receives NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING!!
It's run 100% on donations, so every contribution (small or large), allows the Leukaemia Foundation to provide positive support & assistance to those who are impacted by blood cancers.
So on September 21st, take a walk down to the Perth foreshore, & be a part of this amazing event.
Witness the sea of colour & light, and know that every dollar you give is going directly to these families; each of them able to tell you their own story. Whether it's inspirational or heartbreaking, these people are full of hope.
Here's a few of those people who helped to launch the event this evening:
Most of you don't know, but Kate has her own story about how lymnphoma has directly affected her, So each year that she's involved with the Foundation, she is humbled & thankful to all the people who inspired & supported her, to become the healthy person she is today!!
There is a cure out there. We just need your support to find it.
Thanks - Hope to see you on September 21st.
