I think there’s a bit of a mystery surrounding Boudoir Photography, and I’d really like to clear it up for everyone:
We don’t do Glamour!
We don’t do the OTT makeup, feather boas & soft-focus that characterise Glamour Photography. We are all about being natural, beautiful & confident. You have the right to feel amazing about how you look naturally; the Everyday You.
Boudoir is all about being artistic; showing the natural You; as much on the inside as on the outside
Nude portraits actually date back to the 16th Century, when women were revered (no matter what their size, colour, shape or age) & their bodies adored for their beauty and richness. In those times, women were portrayed in paintings as the embodiment of Venus (Goddess of love, beauty & fertility).
If you look at the work of these artists, you get the feeling that these paintings aren’t about lust or sex; they have a timbre of passion, beauty, freedom, sensuality & confidence.
Edgar Degas
Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema
Asher B. Durand
Eugene Amaury-Duval
Of course, Boticelli’s classic “Birth of Venus”
The difference between Boudoir & Glamour Photography is quite apparent, after seeing the comparisons:
With all that said; I wanted to share some of our latest Boudoir shoots with you, so you can see what I'm talking about...
So, you can make a more informed decision about what you would prefer, now that you know the difference between "Glamour" & "Boudoir" Photography.
See you soon!!
